How EduMark Credits work
One currency for every AI action. Each action has a fixed cost, your plan adds credits every month, and you decide who can spend them.
- Organisation pool
One shared pool for your organisation
Plans with credits add them to one shared pool every month. AI marking, integrity checks and Copyleaks scans are always paid from the pool.
- Allowances
A monthly allowance for each person
Staff and learners use the pool for their own AI tools, such as Aurora and practice, up to a monthly allowance that billing admins control.
- Learners
Learners can top up themselves
When a learner’s allowance runs out, they can buy personal credits with their own card. Personal credits belong to the learner and go with them.
- Staff
Staff ask, admins decide
Staff who reach their allowance can ask for more in one click. A billing admin approves or declines the request, and can buy organisation credit packs at any time.
Never mid-assessment
Submissions, human marking, moderation, feedback release and exports never need credits, so billing can’t interrupt an assessment.
Soonest-expiring first
Plan credits roll over briefly; packs last much longer. We always spend what expires first.

Billing admins see what was used, by whom and for what, and each person can see their own usage.

How does the free trial work?
Every new organisation starts with a 14-day free trial. No card needed. Trial limits apply to learners, staff and courses. When the trial ends, choose a plan to carry on. Until you do, your workspace is read-only and you can still export everything. There is one trial per organisation.
What counts as a learner?
You choose how many learner seats you need, and each enabled learner uses one. Archive a learner to free their seat; their records are kept. Staff are counted separately.
How many staff are included?
Every plan includes staff seats in proportion to your learners, and you can add extra staff seats at any time.
What are EduMark Credits?
One currency for every AI action, from AI marking and integrity checks to Aurora and learner practice. Each action has a fixed cost in credits, shown in the rate card.
Do credits roll over or expire?
Plan credits roll over for a short time, while top-up packs and personal credits last much longer. Trial credits last until the trial ends. We always spend the credits that expire soonest first.
Are plagiarism and AI-writing checks included?
They’re available on every plan and, like every AI action, they use credits. On plans with a monthly credit pool they come out of the pool; otherwise, buy a credit pack.
What happens if a payment fails?
We retry the card and let your billing admins know. Everything keeps working for 30 days from the first failed payment. If it’s still unpaid after that, the workspace becomes read-only: AI features and adding people pause, while submissions, human marking, moderation, feedback release and exports carry on. Paying at any point restores full access straight away.
Can we cancel?
Yes. Cancel in Billing at any time and your plan runs to the end of the period you’ve paid for. After that the workspace is read-only, and you can still sign in and export your data.
Can we change plan or learner count later?
Yes. Upgrades and extra seats take effect straight away and are charged pro rata for the rest of the period. Downgrades and seat reductions take effect at your next renewal.
Should we pay monthly or annually?
Monthly billing is rolling. Annual billing is paid upfront for twelve months at a lower price.
Do prices include VAT?
Plan prices and organisation credit packs exclude VAT, which is added to your invoice. Personal credit packs that learners buy include VAT.
We have a lot of learners. Can we get a quote?
Yes. For more than our self-service number of learners, or if you need procurement paperwork, talk to us and we’ll prepare a quote for your organisation.
Is the Developer API included?
No. The Developer API is a separate product for your own applications. It’s billed per completed operation from its own dashboard and doesn’t use EduMark Credits.
