AURORA APPS

What if you could just ask for the view?

A one-minute story of describing what you want to see and watching Aurora build it. It plays by itself. No sound.

  • Views: Available now
  • Study and interactive: Beta
  • Full apps: Early access

Describe it. Aurora builds it.

Ask for a view of your numbers, a game for tonight’s revision or an app for a lesson, and watch Aurora build it. Much of this is in EduMark today. Apps for anything else are next.

Illustration. In Analytics, a staff member asks Aurora: “Compare on-time submission by cohort this term, with a weekly trend.” Aurora builds the view beside the chat from numbers they can already see: on-time submission for four cohorts, from 94% down to 71%, with a weekly trend. They ask “Make it a bar chart.” and Version 2 appears as a bar chart with an Undo button. Then they pin it to Home.

Watch one get made

A lesson becomes something to play with.

On any lesson, a learner presses Make it interactive. Aurora builds a hands-on app for what’s on screen, part by part, and they start playing with it as soon as it’s ready.

  1. Style
  2. Layout
  3. Controls
  4. Make it respond

Beta Course authors can build one for a lesson so every learner gets it.

Illustration. A learner on the lesson “Rating a risk” presses Make it interactive. Aurora builds “Risk rating explorer” part by part: Style, Layout, Controls, Make it respond. Then the learner plays it: two sliders set likelihood and severity, a 5 by 5 grid lights up the matching square, and the score reads 8, Medium.
Safe by design

Built to play with. Locked down where it counts.

  • Locked down, no internet

Interactive apps run in a locked-down frame that can’t reach the internet.

  • Your permissions, always

Views read numbers through the viewer’s own permissions. Nobody sees more than they already could.

  • Versions and Undo

Every change to a view is a new version. Undo puts the last one back, and a change that fails restores the old one.

  • Learners see their own data

My progress views show a learner their own progress and nothing else.

  • Teaches, never answers

When a learner is stuck in Practice, the app or video explains the idea without giving the answer away.

  • Audio never stored

In Teach it back, Aurora listens to a learner explain the idea out loud. The audio is never stored.

Questions about Aurora apps

What can Aurora build today?

Staff can ask Aurora for a view of their numbers in Analytics, add an app or Study block to a lesson, edit explainer videos, add diagrams and draft whole courses. Learners can turn any course section they can open into flashcards, a quiz, a concept map, a game, an audio lesson, a video and more, and press Make it interactive in the course player. Tutors can put an app on stage in EduMark Live. Study and the interactive tools are in Beta.

Are full Aurora apps available now?

Not yet. Apps for any screen your centre needs, with their own saved data and EduMark tools, are in early access and opening to organisations in stages. Views, Study and the interactive tools on this page are already in EduMark.

Can a view show numbers I’m not allowed to see?

No. A view reads numbers through the permissions of the person looking at it, so nobody sees more than they already could in EduMark. A learner’s My progress view only ever shows their own data.

What if a change makes my view worse?

Every change makes a new version. Press Undo to go back, and if a change fails, Aurora puts the old version back for you.

Can the apps reach the internet?

No. Interactive apps run in a locked-down frame with no internet access.

Will Aurora just give learners the answers?

No. When a learner is stuck in Practice, Aurora makes a mini app or short video that teaches the idea without giving the answer away.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You describe what you want in plain words, and ask for changes the same way.

When do the marketplace and phone apps arrive?

They’re coming soon. Book a call and we’ll keep you posted.

See it build with your own courses.

Book a call and we’ll make a view, a study game and a lesson app from your material, live.
