Which platforms can we move from?
Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams and PebblePad, plus other platforms that export Common Cartridge, such as Brightspace and Schoology. Anything else can come across as spreadsheets and files, or as a done-with-you migration with our team.
What does Aurora actually do during a migration?
You sign in to your old platform in a secure browser, then Aurora works through it course by course. It uses the platform’s own exports wherever they exist and reads pages only when they don’t. It is read-only: it can’t save, delete, post, grade or message anything, it never types into sign-in fields, and it asks you whenever a decision is yours.
Will anything change in our old platform?
No. Connections, uploads and Aurora only read from your old platform. It keeps running exactly as it is until you decide to switch it off.
Will learners and staff be emailed during the import?
No. Imports never email anyone. When you’re ready, you choose to send everyone their sign-in, and EduMark records whether each welcome was delivered.
Can we undo a migration?
Yes. A completed import can be undone from Bring your data in EduMark. Anything your team has changed in EduMark since the import is kept rather than removed.
Can someone from EduMark do the migration with us?
Yes. Our migration team will plan the scope with you, sit with you to run it or run it for you, and check everything has come across before anyone is invited. Talk to us and we’ll set it up.
What about years of historical submissions and grades?
Submissions, marks and written feedback come across where your old platform holds them. Large or unusual archives are scoped with our migration team so they arrive in the right place.
